Traditional & Contemporary Canadian Artist

Canadian born, Diane Soward has been passionate about art since she was a small child. She grew up in the small town of Penetanguishene, located on the shores of Georgian Bay. Instead of following her dream of becoming a full-time artist, she decided to pursue a career as an accountant. After receiving her accounting designation (CPA, CGA) in 1998, she immediately discovered that she still had a real passion for visual arts.  “The artist in me re-surfaced again” and she decided to pick up her paint brush again.  Diane is mostly self-taught but had the opportunity to study art for a period of time at the Newmarket School of Fine Arts.

Diane has been selling her paintings in galleries since 2001.  She paints with acrylics on modern, gallery-style stretched canvas and paints mostly landscapes (especially the rocky terrain of Georgian Bay) but also paint other landscapes, still life and other subjects including contemporary and abstract paintings.   She accepts commissions and will paint from photographs. Diane is a member of Quest Group of Artists of Huronia and Rails End Gallery in Haliburton. Her paintings have been accepted by several juried art exhibitions and she has received many awards.  Her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections in Canada, USA and Europe.

She displays her paintings at the following galleries:

The Piggery Gallery (Newburgh, Ontario)
